The Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of General Hospital, Somolu, Dr. Babalola Dokun Ogungbemile has revealed that the Hospital recorded two birth of first babies in the Year 2024.

Presenting Mr. Governor’s gifts to the new mothers and babies on Tuesday, Ogungbemile attributed the success story to the quality healthcare system operated by the hospital made possible through the good governance of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as conceptualised in the T. H. E. M.E. S Plus Agenda of his Administration.

According to him, “The General Hospital Somolu has the wherewithal to care for natal, postnatal and different health issues affecting mother and child. Expectant and new mothers should not hesitate to patronise General Hospital Somolu, because we have the state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure to handle all maternal and childcare services”.

Expressing his appreciation to Mr. Governor for always supporting the hospital in all ramifications, the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer expressed his profound gratitude to God for the gift of life, especially with the way the hospital started the new year by taking deliveries of two babies.

While congratulating the new mothers, he assured them of effective postnatal care for their babies.

The Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Dr. Sherif Toyin Salako, who led the delivery team, said Mrs. Mosunmola Ojebunmi delivered a baby girl through Caesarean section at 12:15 am on 1st January, 2024, weighing 3 kg at birth; while Mrs. Adewunmi Kudirat Lawal was delivered of a baby girl through spontaneous virginal delivery at 3:30 am, weighing 2.3 kg at birth. He added that the mothers and babies are in good condition and stable health.
